Walking with Men

Walking with men groups are put on a hold at this time.

Walking With Men course description;

Have you ever questioned if there is something more that you wanted to experience in your life as a man? Have you ever desired to know other men who are asking the same questions? Walking With Men is a journey of spiritual and relational transformation through a community of men willing to walk with other men.  The group meeting is not a bible study nor an accountability group, and is not a counseling group. This group meeting is about walking with other men offering honesty, strength and courage sharing each one’s life. In essence each man will understand what it means to watch each others back.

Men too often find their identity through relationships, work, or activities.  The unanswered question “Do I have what it takes to be a man?” is often hidden behind what a man pursues. Men often seek validation of this unanswered question through many messages communicated by the culture we live in. What we come to believe about who we are doesn’t truly reflect how God sees us. This group offers men an opportunity to share their stories in an environment that offers understanding, compassion, and hope in relationship with a “Band of Brothers”.

Jesus walked on this earth understanding what is behind unanswered questions every man faces. He brought together a group of men showing them a way of living that was counter-cultural and good.  Jesus reveals his heart for all when he quotes Isaiah 61:1-2, “I have come to heal those who are broken hearted and to release those who are captive, and to help the blind see.” Men who share their lives and stories with other men opens a door of hope in understanding that we value meaningful connection in community with other men.

Walking With Men is a journey of relational transformation with a community of men developing greater awareness about a world wanting to define men that sets them adrift in a sea of competing and confusing cultural voices. This group will help men experience transformation that can be seen as they become empowered to impact to their marriages, their children, their workplaces, and their communities.

As men we are called to fully live out their lives.  To know what it mean to fully live out our lives starts when men are willing to walk with other men in an environment of honesty, integrity, and openness.

The 4 stages of the men’s group:

  1. What is currently taking place in our lives? What challenges do we face each day? How do we respond to the stress and pressure in our lives? How do cultural influences communicate where men will find acceptance or significance.
  2. What is my story?  Sharing our stories of experiences allow us to better understand other me and what has impacted our lives, and what we have in common.
  3. How are men created in the image of God? The desires in our heart provide a foundation guiding us on a journey to better know our wounds, captivity, or blindness.
  4. Journey of healing our wounds?  Strength and service emerges from the healing of our wounds.  Knowing how to use our stories to support others is a powerful service to others.
